Getting to Know the Oilfield Christian Fellowship Chapter Leaders
Scott Royal – Petroleum Engineer – Oilfield Christian Leader in Dallas since 1996

Currently employed with R.L. Adkins Corp, Scott received his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1974.  His career covers 31 years in the energy industry, working predominantly as a production and reservoir engineer on oil and gas properties in Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.  He and his family have lived in Odessa, Houston, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi, prior to moving to Dallas in 1996.  Scott is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.  He has shared 31 years of marriage with his wife, Nancy.  His son, Blake, is a 3rd-year law student at the University of Texas and his daughter, Sarah, is a senior at Baylor University, majoring in speech pathology.

Scott became a Christian during his teens while growing up in Beeville, Texas.  At the age of 13, he asked Jesus into his heart and received Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  Scott is a deacon at Park Cities Baptist Church and directs an adult bible study department.  Besides hosting the Oilfield Christian Fellowship (Dallas Chapter), he is active as a counselor at the Dallas Pregnancy Resource Center and leads a bible study at Mesquite High School through the ministry, Coaches Outreach.  Scott & Nancy are in their final year as presidents of the North Dallas Baylor Parents League.

Editor’s Note: I’ve known Scott for as long as I have been in the oil patch, having met in San Antonio when both of us lived there and he was with Tenneco. When Scott was working in Corpus Christi, we began talking about the possibility of starting an OCF chapter there but God had other plans and as soon as he moved to Dallas, he organized its first chapter.

Scott is assisted by board of directors, David Gautreaux, Vice President, secretary, Donny Meadows, Alex Lamar, Treasurer, Hoss Smith and Larry Narrell.

The OCF of Dallas meets at the Doubletree Hotel at loop 12 & 75 on the second Thursday of the month. Lunch is $13 and no reservations are needed. For information, call Scott at 214 402 1682
