Text Box: Chapter News from Oklahoma City
Turkeys to the Rescue

In new around here we are kicking off our turkeys to the Rescue campaign in Sept. We began Turkeys to the Rescue 2 years ago when the chapter was only 4 months old with 20 some odd members donating 22 turkeys and $200.00 to the City Rescue Mission. This past year our membership of nearly 90 members donated 100 turkeys and over $1100.00 to help feed the homeless on Thanksgiving Day. This year in January our chapter voted to underwrite the entire Thanksgiving Luncheon at the Mission allowing them to use the funds spent that one day to be spread into several days of meals for the nearly 1200 meals a day they serve. This commitment is going to be a love offering of between $4000.00 to $8000.00 and I believe that God will allow this chapter to meet and exceed this goal.
The Oklahoma Independent Producers Association has caught a vision along with this chapter and has leant its support to our chapter by doing many hours of art design on fliers and a poster for our Turkeys to the Rescue campaign. Paragon Press has donated the printing cost and Plaster and Wald consulting has agreed to pay for paper and other expenses. God is good and sufficient.
Also, the OIPA has extended us a golf hole sponsorship and waved the normal fee in their upcoming golf tournament in October. Chapter volunteers will man this hole so we can get the word out about our chapter and Turkeys to the Rescue. God is moving, to Him be all the praise and glory.
