Jim Schmidt - Tulsa Director
 
      Jim Schmidt is the Oklahoma Corporate Sales representa­tive for Power Chokes¨ a division of ExProGroup. Jim is involved in all phases of mar­keting and sales for this worldwide oilfield service and equipment company head-quartered in Cypress, Texas. Jim is very active in the AADE, SPE, and API.
Prior to joining Power Chokes¨, in 2003, Jim traveled the nation fulltime as a children’s educator, entertainer and minister, under the name, “Armadillo Jim”. Jim serves as president of the non-profit, Put
On Your Armorª foundation which has reached over three million children in programs in 30 states and Canada since 1980. Jim and his pet armadillos have been seen on hundreds of television shows and at state fairs, festivals, and tradeshows in over 1000 public schools. Jim resided in New Braunfels, Texas from 1983-1995.
Jim graduated with a radio and television degree from the University of Houston. Later as a marketing and promotions executive, Jim developed the highly successful LuvYa Blue¨ sports promotion in 1979 for the Houston Oilers.
In 1997 Jim graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. That same year Jim married a widow, Sheila with two children, Blake and Fiona. In 2000, Jim and his wife Sheila, together with their children, authored the children’s book, I Cried Too. Following 9-11, the book was chosen by the Pentagon and City of New York for the children who lost parents in the terrorist attack. I Cried Tooª has now become a national outreach to children who loose a mom or dad. Over 1400 I Cried Toª packets have been delivered to surviving children of the U.S. military. Jim and his family continue to head this effort.
Jim recently completed his latest book: Helping Public Schools; 101 Ways to Increase Your Significance and Influence. Already pastors and community leaders are benefiting as this book is a “call to action manual” and outreach tool to the 45,000,000 students in America’s public schools.
As leader of the Tulsa OCF chapter, Jim assists in the new OCF evangelistic outreach and lecture series targeting university campuses entitled, Success & Faith in the Energy Industry. Jim also works closely with the OCF Oklahoma City chapter and is active on the OCF Bible,God’s Word for the Oil Patch, distribution team.
Jim, a native of Schulenburg, Texas and was reared with a large family on a cotton farm.
Jim and his family reside in south Tulsa and are active members of their church, local and state politics, children’s advocacy and the Oilfield Christian Fellowship.Jim can be reached at 918 810-7114.
