BIBLE READING PLANS FOR 2025

BIBLES READING PLANS FOR 2025

Have you ever read the Bible through?  Do you want to but think it is too daunting or don’t know the best way to start?  We want to help you with your 2025 Bible reading strategy.

For 2025 the OCF has chosen to promote the Navigator’s Reading plans.  They have three plans to choose from. (From their website)

  1.  The Navigators Bible Reading Plan (also known as the Discipleship Journal Bible Reading Plan) offers special features that make this an easy-to-use and adaptable Bible reading plan:
  • Adapts to your Bible study needs: you can start whenever you like and don’t have to wait for January 1.
  • Includes 25 Bible readings each month, which allows for three to six free days to catch up, if needed. Or you can return to passages where you want to spend more time.
  • Adds variety in your daily Bible readings that include both the Old and New Testament.
2. The Book-at-a-Time Bible Reading Plan

The Navigators Book-at-a-Time Bible Reading Plan is a Bible-in-a-year reading plan that includes the following features:

  • Features two Bible readings per day: The first Bible reading alternates between Old and New Testament books which spreads out the Gospel readings throughout the year. The second offers a chapter from either Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, or Isaiah.
  • Includes 25 Bible readings each month, which allows for three to six free days to catch up, if needed. Or you can return to passages where you want to spend more time.
  • Adapts to your Bible study needs: Not only can you start whenever you like, but you could also extend the plan to two years. Focus on the first reading for year one and the second reading for year two.
The 5x5x5 New Testament Bible Reading Plan

In this Bible reading plan, read through the New Testament in 5 days a week, 5 minutes a day:

5 minutes a day | If you’re not used to reading the Bible daily, this easy-to-use Bible reading plan will take you through all 260 chapters of the New Testament, one chapter per day. The Gospels are read throughout the year to weave in the story of Christ all year long.

5 days a week | Includes 5 readings each week, which allows for three to six free days each month to catch up, if needed. Or you can return to passages where you want to spend more time.

5 ways to dig deeper | Below are 5 different ways to dig deeper each day. These exercises will encourage meditation. Try a single idea for a week to find what works best for you. Remember to keep a pen and paper ready to capture God’s insights.

  1. Underline or highlight key words or phrases in the Bible passage. Use a pen or highlighter to mark new discoveries from the text.
  2. Put it into your own words. Read the passage or verse slowly, then rewrite each phrase or sentence using your own words.
  3. Ask and answer some questions. Questions unlock new discoveries and meanings. Ask questions about the passage using these words: who, what, why, when, where, or how. Jot down your answers to these questions.
  4. Capture the big idea. God’s Word communicates big ideas. Periodically ask: What’s the big idea in this sentence, paragraph, or chapter?
  5. Personalize the meaning. Respond as God speaks to you through the Scriptures. Ask: How could my life be different today as I respond to what I’m reading?
