Shout to God with the voice of triumph!

I like the Mounds and Almond Joy candy bar jingle; “Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t!” The same can be said of prayer. Sometimes you want to pray and sometimes you are stuck and can’t get started. In times when you can’t get started, you don’t know what to say or are too ashamed to pour your heart out, this psalm is the cure for prayer block.
This is a song of triumph. This is a song for a King coming onto the throne. In fact, the church has sung it for centuries during the ascension of Jesus. When prayer doesn’t come easy, pray this psalm. Let your joy grow and your faith strengthened by the words of praise coming out of your mouth. Exalt the Lord in prayer and then let your prayer time start to flow.
Even the Apostle Paul knew about prayer block when he wrote,
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27
There are times when we feel like our prayers aren’t heard. We are so down we don’t know how to pray. When we cannot find the words we need to say to God, spend time praising Him until the mind can form the thoughts needing expression. If trouble praying persists, praise until it passes and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you. Praising God in prayer works. Shout unto the Lord!
