15th Annual OCF Houston Prayer Breakfast 
The OCF Houston leadership team would like to thank everyone who helped make the 15th Annual Oilfield Prayer Breakfast held the morning of May 7th, 2013 during The Offshore Technical Conference (OTC) the great success it was.
Surprise guest George Bush, (aka John Morgan; a George Bush impersonator) started the program off to the great delight of the crowd. Mark Lowry got the room rolling with his witty comedy and his maginficent song, "Mary Did you Know." Mark Albers, VP or ExxonMobil, gave a moving testimony of how God works through our disappointments.

THE IADC OILFIELD CHARITY SHOOT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS
THANKS to all who made the IADC Charity Shoot a great success. Both rounds were sold out and a lot of money was raised for the Bible Ministry. We are thankful to the IADC Houston Chapter for their honoring us with this great work. God's blessing to all involved.

Next OCF Houston Meeting to be held June 5, 2013
There is no luncheon scheduled for May. The Oilfield Prayer Breakfast in conjunction with the OTC on May 7, 2013 takes the plac e of the May luncheon. The next luncheon will be June 5th.
The meeting at Houston's First Baptist Church (7401 Katy Freeway) starts at 11:30 am.

Check out this news video from a Corpus Christi television station talking about the Oil Patch Bible and how it is affecting lives in the Eagle Ford play.
One point of clarification; the newscaster identifies the Oil Patch Bible as an oil patch friendly edition and compares John 3:16 in the Oil Patch Bible to the KJV verse. She doesn't identify the Oil Patch Bible as an NLT translation. This is an easier to read translation published by Tyndale House that has been available for many years. The Oilfield Christian Fellowship didn't develop a new Bible translation.

Also, we have volunteers who have offered to mentor anyone wishing to take a closer walk with Christ, need some one to help them grow their faith or just need a friend to help walk in God's grace while living in this fallen world. Have You Heard about the Rig Wives Foundation?
The Rig Wives Foundation is in the progress of becoming a
Non-Profit organization of women who have joined together to create a fund
designed to help Families in the Oil & Gas Industry. The organization has
only been alive since October of 2011.
All money received through
purchases and donations are used strictly to help oilfield families make ends
meet. We offer a site at www.rigwives.org
for this organization.
We here at the Rig Wives Foundation offer our families
emotional, financial and parental support to unite them as a solid family
despite the miles between them. We have
created a forum on our site where wives can go to become part of a sisterhood
made up of understanding, encouragement, & laughter. This forum is a members only venue of ladies who understand what each other is
going through; offering them a sense of peace in knowing they are not going
through it alone. We welcome our wives
into a unique sorority of women who have to be as strong as the men they love
in order to hold down the fort while their men are away at work. In the 'Pushers
Shack' tab on our site we sell oilfield merchandise for a small profit to put
into our donation bucket. Our greatest
to date is our Rig Wives Cookbook.
All of our women have submitted recipes that we have
compiled into a great treasure of meals from all over the world.
Oil and Gas has been a booming business since the turn of
the century. If you have been doing this
awhile you have been through several company changes, a lay off or two and or
an election year where indecision is the meal of the day. Well your sisters at the Rig Wives Foundation
understand that also. That is why we
concentrate on financial assistance for those going through trying times. We have specifically assisted 4 families as
of today. One of our oilfield workers
had the approved time off during his hitch for the birth of his first
baby. But this roughneck was working 3 states away and would not have had the funds to make it
home, we assisted him. Another roughneck
had been unemployed but was needing to get 2 states away to go to work, we
assisted him. We are currently
collecting funds to assist a family whose oilfield worker has sustained horrific injuries in a car accident coming home from his
hitch. These families represent just a few that have benefited from
our group.

that are hiring at the moment and we post links to support our wives that sell
from home.

page. We offer a page dedicated to 'Ask
A Roughneck' where wives can ask our anonymous husband what they should do in
special situations that they might want to address with their husbands or just
for their own peace of mind.
