Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

You have been brought before the judge and questioned about breaking the law.  This same judge doles out stiff penalties for this offense.  When questioned by the judge if you are guilty, how would you respond?

Peter and John were caught healing a crippled man at the temple and preaching the resurrection of the dead in Jesus.  The rulers of the Sanhedrin brought them in to find out how they healed this man and to try to get them to stop preaching about Jesus.

Peter didn’t back down or cave to their demands but responded boldly to their questioning.  He told them the power to heal comes from faith in Jesus Christ, and in our verse, gave them the gospel in a nutshell.

The word Gospel means good news.  Salvation for all eternity is probably the best news I have ever heard.

Jesus said He is the way, the truth, and the life.  He is the way to God, and forgiveness for our sins.  All one need to do is ask Jesus to forgive the sins of your life and ask him to dwell in you through the Holy Spirit.  He will wash you clean as snow.

Prayer:  Dear Jesus, forgive me of the sins I have committed. Cleanse me and make me new.  I accept you as my Lord and Savior.  Come into my life and live in me.  Help me to live in you.   In Jesus’ name, amen.

* There is a website that conducted a search for Bible verses.  They compiled a list of the verses in order of the magnitude of hits they got in their search.  Some of these verses probably qualify as ‘people’s favorites’, while others might be on the list because they are some of the most important and most teachable words of God.
